At BluEnergy, we’re a team of deeply experienced energy industry practitioners with a deep understanding of the challenges facing CEOs, investors, developers, emitters or anyone trying to navigate their way through in navigating the changing headwinds of decarbonisation. We are industry leaders with deep commercial and sub-surface expertise with an extensive network of engineers, economists, environmental & community specialists and more, who have spent decades developing pragmatic strategy and delivering complex energy and industrial projects around the world.

We help clients turn decarbonisation ambition into a sustainable, achievable strategy and we can also support the development of technically robust, commercially investible, and socially accepted projects.

Combining strategic insight with hands-on delivery, we focus on what’s doable. We seek to create real-world solutions that work.

Energy transition leadership today is about finding the balance between secure, affordable, and cleaner energy systems.

(Hamish Wilson, November 2025)

Successful decarbonisation isn’t just about technology - it’s about aligning diverse stakeholders around a common goal and making complex projects doable.

The energy transition demands pragmatism, not perfection. Our job is to turn ambition into action — bridging strategy, engineering, and community trust.

True value lies in delivery. We move beyond reports and workshops to help clients develop credible strategy & real projects that can be financed, permitted, and supported.

Want action not words?

Decarbonisation is not just about technology - it’s about alignment. Boards, investors, industrial emitters, developers, regulators, financiers, and communities must now operate in interdependent ecosystems where pathways forward are enabled by a shared understanding of risk, opportunity, and mitigation.

BluEnergy helps clients to translate ambition into technically sound, commercially investible, and socially accepted projects. From strategy to implementation, we connect disciplines, align incentives, and ensure projects are visionary and achievable.

We focus on what can be financed, permitted, and delivered, bridging the gap between ambition and action in an increasingly complex energy landscape.

It’s all about delivery

BluEnergy bridges the gap between strategy and delivery. Unlike traditional consultancies we are project develoment advisors practitioners with hands-on experience in delivering large-scale decarbonisation projects. Our approach combines technical, commercial, strategic, and social expertise under one roof, ensuring that strategy is pragmatic and that projects are not only visionary but truly bankable and implementable.

In short, BluEnergy turns ambition into action by delivering technically robust, commercially viable, and socially accepted decarbonisation projects in complex, interdependent energy ecosystems.

Distinctively BluEnergy:

  1. Developer-led: We develop strategy and subsequent implementation through projects from concept to execution. We can validate or assess what already exists, or create from a ‘clean sheet’

  2. End-to-end integration: Subsurface, engineering, finance, policy, and community acceptance are addressed in a unified approach.

  3. Independent but risk-aligned: Through our sister company Azuli International, we look to take a commercial stake in projects, which ensures razor sharp focus on risk and deliverability whilst delivering truly independent advice.

  4. Lean and practitioner-focused: Senior experts are directly engaged, avoiding the layers and bureaucracy of large consultancies.

  5. Social licence embedded: Community acceptance and stakeholder alignment are integral, not an afterthought.

  6. Deep decarbonisation expertise: CCS, hydrogen, ammonia, and industrial decarbonisation are core, not sub-services.

·       Agricultural Trading (Dutch, German, US and international)

Domestic Heat and Electricity

Founded and ran a technology start up providing an innovative space heating concept integrating PV/solar thermal with a heat pump and energy storage (thermal and batteries).  This involved forming a delivery team and raising capital.  The technology went through several iterations responding to the market and performance data.  The project gave a deep understanding of the European renewable energy market and the challenges of using technology to replace fossil fuel heat and electricity and a broad knowledge of both the range of renewable energy technologies and business models for their deployment.  Interfacing and influencing government policy has been an important element of the project.

Solar, batteries and car chargers

Re-invigorated a domestic solar company which is now providing roof top and ground mount solar, batteries and car chargers.  In addition, the company also provides feasibility studies and O&M services for utility scale solar farms.

Understanding the economics of solar and batteries underpins the product offering; integral to this is using batteries and energy storage to take advantage of variable electricity tariffs and maximising onsite usage of renewable energy.

Solar thermal and borehole integration

Won a BEIS (UK Government) funded project to halve the operating and capital costs of a heat pump system.  The project started with building a parametric model of underlying physics for both solar thermal and ground heat sources for the heat pump.  On the basis of the insights gained from this modelling, the technology was re-designed to use bore holes as a thermal storage solution.
